Okay, so I realized I don’t talk about myself much here… and honestly? It feels a little vulnerable, but I want to share my story with you because it’s a big part of why I do what I do. So grab your favorite drink, get comfy, and let me give you a sneak peek into the last few years of my life—the journey from teacher to Jacksonville wedding photographer.

My Love for People Runs Deep

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I *love* people. Like, seriously love them. It’s such a big part of who I am. Growing up, my family really instilled the value of connection, and it’s shaped everything I do. That’s why I went to college to become a teacher. For the last five years, I have poured my heart into the classroom, building relationships with my students and making them feel cared for (at least, I hope they thought so!).
But about three years ago, I started feeling this little tug… I was loving my time as a teacher, but I couldn’t ignore this dream of creating a life with more flexibility. I knew that one day, when I had a family of my own, I wanted to be *present* for every little moment. And let’s be real—teaching doesn’t exactly come with a ton of free time.

How Photography Found Me

Photography wasn’t always my thing. Sure, I’ve always loved being creative, but for me, it was less about the camera and more about creating something that made people feel amazing—like a million bucks. Whether it was planning events, helping friends with projects, or just making someone’s day brighter, I’ve always had a passion for creating experiences that leave people feeling special.

But then… photography came along. I didn’t think it could ever be more than just a fun hobby at first. I mean, where do you even start, right?

Spoiler alert: God had a plan. I started praying about this dream that felt so far away, and little by little, He brought the most amazing people into my life. They encouraged me, gave me advice, and helped me take that first step. So I started small, taking photos for friends and family—a sweet engagement session here, a wedding there—and oh my gosh, I fell in love. Like, full-on head-over-heels.

There’s something so magical about telling someone’s love story through photos and seeing the joy it brings them.

FAST FORWARD TO NOw…

Right now,

I’m wrapping up my five-year teaching career as my husband and I get ready to welcome our baby (which btw — we are so excited!!). While I’m transitioning into full-time photography, I’m finding so much joy in capturing love stories all over Jacksonville. From dreamy Jacksonville Beach photography sessions to heartwarming weddings in St. Augustine, I’ve discovered my happy place behind the camera. And let me tell you, there’s nothing like connecting with a couple and being part of one of the most special days of their lives. I mean, how lucky am I?!
Being a wedding photographer in Jacksonville has reminded me how much I thrive on connection. It’s not just about snapping photos; it’s about making each couple feel comfortable, excited, and completely themselves.

Why This Job Means So Much

This isn’t just a job for me. It’s a way to create a life that lets me focus on what matters most: my family and connecting with people. While leaving teaching will be a bittersweet experience — I know that what is in store is far greater than I could have ever imagined on my own. I’m more grateful than ever for the ability that photography will give me to raise my daughter while still doing what I love. I mean seriously, its the best of both worlds.
